Our Service

Our service has been designed to work on everything from portrait mobile phones all the way up to 4K screens and above. We do recommend a large high resolution screen to get the full experience. This means that you can be anywhere to check status on jobs, compare before/after images/videos on a pixel level detail from any browser. You can even step frame-by-frame and do an A/B comparison on top of each other or side-by-side. It's recommended to make sure that your display has been calibrated for the correct gamma and color representation so you can do a full evaluation in your browser. Our goal is for you to never have to leave your browser while you restore your film.

Adaptive Filtering

Your media is analyzed for when scenes begin and end, broken frames between scenes are also marked. Our service can then use adaptive filtering to account for the difference in sharpness, saturation and luminance between scenes. The end result is something that should be coherent when it comes to perceived quality. You can also choose to remove any inconsistent noise while keeping consistent film grain. This way you can keep the classic look of film while getting rid of all the unwanted noise. All our filters can of course be turned on and off depending on your specific needs. This way you only pay for what you need for each and every film.

Scalability

Since film restoration at this level requires intense processing power, a single computer can only be used for one single job. This is why we have chosen to make our service cloud based. By being in touch with some of the world's major cloud providers we can make sure that our service can scale to whatever your needs are. While trying out our service your account will run with limited resources but once you sign up with any of our account plans you will have dedicated resources that we will setup according to where in the world you are located. If your company has different regional offices we can accommodate for this as well.

Colorization

We have teamed up with DeOldify (a company with a state-of-the-art image AI-colorization framework). Together we have managed to achieve a breakthough in Video Colorization. It's taken us a long time to perfect our respective technologies and the result when combining our work is a world-class colorization service for professional video. This colorization service even works on faded color film by re-colorizing the B&W-channel from scratch resulting in a new fresh color version. AI-assisted film restoration is by nature a very complicated process because of all the different variations of restoration work that is needed. This is why we are using the absolute latest technology for each and every single one of our filters. Machine learning and AI are slowly becoming terms that people recognize and they are becoming more wide-spread in more and more fields. Some of the world's largest companies are heavily invested in using this technology as the preferred way of solving complex tasks. We are no different as we are constantly looking into this area. AI is the future.

Film Types

Our focus is on professional film ranging from 16mm to 35mm and up. Your material should have been professionally scanned in HD/2K or higher resolution. It can be either raw or graded scans, just make sure that the scan is not under or over exposed as all white and black parts are needed for our service to fully be able to restore your material. Our service could also be used for 8mm film and digitally sourced SD-material even though results may vary depending on the quality.
